Work by Prof. Sender shows at Philadelphia film festival The Brian Dennis Project, a short documentary co-produced and directed by Katherine Sender, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Communication (with Joe’l Ludovich), was shown during the third annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival (June 27). The film follows artist Brian David Dennis as he creates a site-specific installation for the Philadelphia Art Alliance. It follows Dennis through the development of his concept to the moment the installation is finished. Prof. Linebarger speaks at children's media conference Deborah L. Linebarger, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Communication, was a speaker at the “Women in Children’s Media” conference June 22 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in New York City. She participated in a panel discussion focusing on infants and television. Leonore Annenberg Scholarship winner Karina Melendez An inspiring story of perseverance by Karina Melendez, one of only five students in the country to win the Leonore Annenberg Scholarship, was aired by NBC News, WNBC (New York/network affiliate), and TalkBronx.com. Kathleen Hall Jamieson interviewed by US News & World Report regarding voter dissatisfaction with incumbents in the Congress. (June 30). Prof. Jamieson also was interviewed for a story about the Gulf Oil leak and its pervasive presence in political attack ads that ran in The Baltimore Sun and in CGPolitics.com.
