Prof. Hampton research profiled in Research at Penn

Research by Keith N. Hampton, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Communication, about the use of Wi-Fi in public spaces was covered in the current issue of Research at Penn. E-mail us for a printed copy of the full issue.

Prof. Turow discusses privacy with law scholars

Joseph Turow, Ph.D., the Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Communication, attended the annual Privacy Law Scholars conference hosted by University of California Berkeley Law School and George Washington University Law School, June 3-4. He led a discussion of a paper written by two Carnegie Mellon University researchers entitled, “An Empirical Study of How People Perceive Online Behavioral Advertising.”

Faculty in the news

Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Ph.D., the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication and Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, is quoted in a June 8 story in The Philadelphia Inquirer on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill’s political charge.  Prof. Jamieson pointed out that it was only logical for the media to cast BP as “the super-villain that conned the public with eco-branding while taking shortcuts that risked the lives of its workers…”
