Today: Lecture by Visiting Scholar Michael Bromley The Annenberg School for Communication’s Scholars Program in Culture and Communication today presents a lecture by Michael Bromley, head of the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Queensland, Australia, titled “Crisis, Citizenship and Journalism.” Today, October 11, at 6:15 p.m. More upcoming events, below. A presentation from this year’s International Communication Association conference by Klaus Krippendorff, Ph.D., the Gregory Bateson Professor of Communication, is published in new book, Matters of Communication: Political: Cultural, and Technological Challenges to Communication Theorizing. “The distinction between the networks and cable is increasingly going away,” said Michael X. Delli Carpini, Ph.D., Professor of Communication and Walter H. Annenberg Dean in a story in the website TheWrap.com about Fox News reaching its 15th anniversary. The Leonore Annenberg School Fund for Children’s support for an elementary school in Tennessee is highlighted. Jessica Fishman, Ph.D. (Gr ’01) looks at cancer news coverage and finds that the downside of cancer treatment is rarely covered in African American owned press.
