Barbie Zelizer, Ph.D., the Raymond Williams Professor of Communication, is named a Patten Lecturer at Indiana University for the upcoming academic year.

The Daily You: How the New Advertising Industry Is Defining Your Identity and Your Worth by Joseph Turow, Ph.D., the Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Communication, reviewed by socialmediatoday.com.

Victor Pickard, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Communication, writes about the sales of The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Daily News in an op ed that appeared in The Inquirer.

The 2012 campaign is in full swing.  Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Ph.D., the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication and Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, wrote a column for Bill Moyers explaining what candidates’ kick-off speeches really mean.  She explained the issues around a California ruling that may require public broadcasters to accept political advertisements. She talked to the News and Observer (Charlotte, N.C.) about the use of the “royal we” in political rhetoric, and explained the impact of political attach advertisements during an interview with The Daily Titan, the student newspaper at CalState-Fullerton. She also talked to NPR how the legacy of naming a tax cut after a politician has its own political potholes.

John L. Jackson, Jr., Ph.D., the Richard Perry University Professor of Communication and Anthropology, receives dean’s award from the Penn School of Arts and Sciences.

Former New Jersey Gov. Tom Kean was a guest speaker on Monday, April 16, at the Communication and Emergency Response class taught by Al Felzenberg.

The Annenberg Public Policy Center honors the “Sesame Process” for Children’s Media Development.
