Doctoral student David Conrad’s research in Nairobi
Doctoral student David Conrad, above, center, recently completed field research in Nairobi as part of a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting project. You can read his blog posts here. Faculty, Annenberg in the news Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Ph.D., the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication, explained to the Associated Press why President Obama is embracing the term “Obamacare.” The story, and her comments, were carried by multiple news outlets, including this one from Business Week. Prof. Jamieson also talked about negative campaign advertisements for a story that ran in TheHill.com. Marwan M. Kraidy, Ph.D., Professor of Communication, talks about Middle East media coverage of the Syrian conflict for a story in The Wall Street Journal. Joseph Turow, Ph.D., the Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Communication, will talk about the brave new world of advertising during a keynote talk at the Ad-Tech Conference in San Francisco this week. Who is and is not on line in Philadelphia? Annenberg hosts meeting of the New America Foundation’s Open Technology Initiative to examine that question. Christopher Ali published in International Communication Gazette. Congratulations to undergraduate communications major Kristen Strausbaugh and her teammates on the Penn women’s gymnastics team for winning the ECAC championship.
