Presidential election 2012: Annenberg weighs in

As the 2012 presidential campaign picks up the pace, so too does the number of times Annenberg appears in the news. In the past week The Washington Post and The Huffington Post ran stories about FlackCheck.org, the new web site from the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC).  Additionally, Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Ph.D., the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication and Director of the APPC, was quoted in election-themed stories that ran on Minnesota Public Radio,  radio program The Takeaway, the web site TechPresident.com, and the (Fort Worth, TX) Star-Telegram.

John L. Jackson, Jr., Ph.D., the Richard Perry University Professor of Communication and Anthropology, appointed to a new position for diversity with the Penn Provost.

Joseph Turow, Ph.D., the Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Communication, talks about his book The Daily You: How the New Advertising Industry Is Defining Your Identity and Your Worth (Yale University Press, 2011) in an interview with Adweek. Prof. Turow also will discuss his book at the Penn Bookstore on Feb. 8 (see Upcoming Events, below).

The Tehran Bureau, part of the PBS program “Frontline,” posted an essay on the recent Cinema In Iran conference, which was sponsored by the Annenberg School for Communication’s Center for Global Communication Studies.
