Annenberg in the news

Researchers from the Perelman School of Medicine, the Annenberg School for Communication, and the Annenberg Public Policy Center determined that strong arguments rather than flashy editing, sound, and video effects are the most important factor in developing a strong anti-smoking Public Service Announcement. In addition to coverage in WHYY’s NewsWorks, the story was covered in Science Daily, and Medical Daily.

George Gerbner post-doctoral fellows Susanna Dilliplane, Ph.D. (Gr ’12), Seth Goldman, Ph.D. (Gr ’10), and Diana C. Mutz, Ph.D., the Samuel A. Stouffer Professor of Communication and Political science, have developed a new measure for understanding how well people gain political knowledge from watching television news. Their findings are discussed in the January issue of the American Journal of Political Science.
