Prof. Joseph Turow will be a guest on the public affairs television program "@Issue," airing Sunday, August 19 on WCAU (NBC 10) in Philadelphia. Prof. Turow will discuss the subject of targeted political advertising. This was the subject of recent research conducted by him, Michael Delli Carpini, Nora Draper, and Rowan Howard Williams, which was the subject of a story in The New York Times.
A series of radio documentaries produced by Annenberg undergraduate students in Sandra Ristovska’s class “Comm 320: Urban Ethnography: Documenting City Life” will air Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, August 19, 20, and 21 on Philadelphia radio station WURD (900 AM). NOTE: The documentaries were scheduled to air August. 12 - 14, but have been rescheduled to this coming week. The radio documentaries, each five minutes long, provide up close reviews of the Black Star Film Festival, the life-changing aspects of participation in West Philadelphia drill teams, and a powerful look at the so-called “School to Prison Pipeline” in Philadelphia. The radio documentaries will air during the 8:40 a.m. news break. Listeners will have the opportunity to call in and comment.
