Inaugural Distinguished Lecture in Global Communication Michael Curtin from the University of California, Santa Barbara, on September 19 will deliver the Inaugural Distinguished Lecture in Global Communication, sponsored by Annenberg’s Project for Advanced Research in Global Communication. New research from Prof. Dolores Albarracín and colleagues explains why some people are predisposed to just dislike things. Welcome 2013 cohort of doctoral students The Annenberg School for Communication welcomed its Fall 2013 cohort of doctoral students during Convocation on August 27. Annenberg at the APSA Annual Meeting Annenberg presentations and activities at the 2013 American Political Science Association Annual Meeting and Exhibition Amy Bleakley from the Annenberg Public Policy Center was a guest on the WHYY (NPR affiliate) program “Radio Times” talking about a study conducted by herself, Amy Jordan, and Michael Hennessy on the impact parental TV habits have on kids. Prof. Marwan M. Kraidy talked to The Philadelphia Inquirer about how Al Jazeera America will fare in the U.S. He also talked about Al Jazeera in an older interview with the French daily newspaper Le Monde (Note: the link is not translated.) Prof. Kathleen Hall Jamieson was a guest on the WNYC radio program The Takeaway to talk about the Republican National Committee’s decision to boycott NBC and CNN. New book chapter by doctoral candidate Piotr M. Szpunar. September 5 – 6: Prof. Marwan M. Kraidy to speak at University of Queensland Symposium. September 17 - Book talk by Robert W. McChesney.
