Scholars program public lecture by Michael Schudson Michael Schudson, Ph.D., a Visiting Scholar in the Annenberg School for Communication’s Scholars Program in Culture and Communication, will deliver a public lecture on Feb. 12 titled “James Madison, John Moss, and the Origins of the Freedom of Information Act.” Joseph Turow, Ph.D., the Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Communication, writes about consumers and online privacy in the latest issue of Advertising Age magazine. Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Ph.D., the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication and Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, talks about challenges President Obama may have in his second term in a news article in The Daily Beast. Sharrona Pearl, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Communication, delivered talks at two events recently at Carleton University. Secondary Faculty member Christopher Yoo talks about Verizon and net neutrality. This week’s edition is Porn for the Blind (no, that’s not a typo). Feb. 6 – Penn Design presents “Understanding Change & the Change in Understanding,” – 7 p.m., Meyerson Hall. Feb. 8 – CGCS seminar – From Tehran to Tahrir: Public Space Redefined – all day. Feb. 12 – Scholars Program lecture by Michael Schudson – 6:15 p.m. in Room 109. Feb. 13 – CECCR Speaker Series – Sonya Dal Cin – noon in Room 500.
