Faculty news – Barbie Zelizer, Emily Falk, Sandra González-Bailón, Carlin Romano Prof. Barbie Zelizer will be a speaker this Thursday, Oct. 24, at the University of Richmond’s Rhetoric and Communications Fall Forum 2013. The Richmond conference was organized by Annenberg alumna Nicole Maurantonio (Gr ’10). Prof. Emily Falk and colleagues published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Prof. Sandra González-Bailón delivered a talk at Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy recently. Annenberg’s Carlin Romano recently spoke at Kenyon College, Hofstra University and the “Fourth Sino-U.S. Colloquium” in Washington. APPC’s Dan Romer was a guest on the National Public Radio affiliate WHYY, talking about reducing smoking in Philadelphia neighborhoods. Omar Al-Ghazzi, Prof. Marwan M. Kraidy, published in the International Journal of Communication. October 23 – CGCS/PARGC Colloquium by David Faris – 12:30 p.m. in Room 500. October 23 – Book talk by alumnus Scott Reich – 5 p.m. in Room 109. October 26 – Iran: Art and Discourse. One-day symposium co-sponsored by the Annenberg Center for Global Communication Studies – Asia Society, New York, NY. October 29 – Scholars Program lecture by José van Dijck. 6 p.m. in Room 109. October 30 – CGCS event - Media Law and Practice in Russia. Penn Law. November 7 – CGCS event – Lucy Purdon talk on the 2013 Kenyan Presidential elections. Noon in Room 300. November 8 – CGCS talk about research at BBC Media Action by Kavita Abraham-Dowsing. Noon in Room 500.
