Congratulations to Prof. Diana C. Mutz, who received an honorary doctoral degree from the University of Southern Denmark Oct. 4. While there Prof. Mutz also led an Experimental Design Workshop for faculty from several universities.
Prof. Zelizer to deliver keynote at The Humanities Institute at Stony Brook
Prof. Barbie Zelizer will deliver one of two keynotes at the Memory: Culture, Media, Cognition conference Oct. 11 at The Humanities Institute at Stony Brook. The title of her talk is “Why Journalism Has Always Been Part of Memory’s Landscape.”

Prof. Kathleen Hall Jamieson was a guest on the radio program “The Takeaway” last week, discussing the politics behind the shutdown of the U.S. government.
New study from the Annenberg Public Policy Center points to the central role nurses play in treating mentally ill HIV patients.
Sandra Ristvoska overseas visiting scholar appointment
Doctoral student Sandra Ristovska will be a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Media and Communication Studies at the Central European University in Budapest this term.
