Prof. Jamieson delivers keynote in Washington, D.C. conference on science communication Prof. Kathleen Hall Jamieson delivered the keynote address at the Arthur M. Sackler Colloquia Sept. 23 on the subject of journalists as “custodians of the knowable.” Sandra González-Bailón lecture in Barcelona Prof. Sandra González-Bailón recently delivered a talk during a conference at the Open University of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, recently, where the discussed the hierarchical nature of social networks. Her talk was the subject of an interview with a Catalan newspaper (note: the interview is not translated). Prof. Jackson’s Lightbulb Café talk previewed WHYY previewed the Sept. 24 inaugural Penn Lightbulb Café talk by Prof. John L. Jackson, Jr. FactCheck.org again turned to in order to separate fact from fiction on Obamacare. FactCheck.org’s Lori Robertson was interviewed by Southern California Public Radio about American’s apparent confusion over Obamacare. The National Annenberg Election Survey was referenced in an ESPN story about controversial professional sports team names. A new study on smoking by Michael Hennessy, Ph.D.; and Dan Romer, Ph.D., of the Annenberg Public Policy Center was referenced in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
