FDA/NIH $20 million grant will establish a University of Pennsylvania Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science. Philadelphia National Public Radio affiliate WHYY provided coverage.

Prof. Kathleen Hall Jamieson delivered the keynote address at the Arthur M. Sackler Colloquia Sept. 23 on the subject of journalists as “custodians of the knowable.”

Sandra González-Bailón lecture in Barcelona

Prof. Sandra González-Bailón recently delivered a talk during a conference at the Open University of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, recently, where the discussed the hierarchical nature of social networks.  Her talk was the subject of an interview with a Catalan newspaper (note: the interview is not translated).
